Describes the ability of materials to absorb sound.<\/p>

When talking about the reduction of reverberation within a room, this always refers to sound proofing. It is the attenuation of sound reflected from the walls, ceiling and floor or from the furniture, softening the noise within the room. Sound waves are reflected almost 100% from the mostly hard surfaces such as glass, concrete, wood or metal, which are often used in construction, and thus buzz back and forth in the room for a very long time. The noise thus builds up, so to speak. Above a certain limit, which varies from person to person, the noise is disturbing or very disturbing.<\/p>

The only remedy is to use absorbent material, such as plaster foam. Acoustic foams have open pores and can therefore absorb sound and convert it into heat. PREFORM usually processes this lightweight material on ceilings or walls or hangs it up as a ceiling sail or acoustic image. With every acoustic solution installed, the sound is absorbed at this point and is no longer reflected back into the room – it becomes quieter.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
